๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช Sweden Captures Third Consecutive Euro Hockey Tour Title

By virtue of their 2-0 victory over hosts Czechia in the middle tilt of the 2024 Betano Hockey Games (formerly Czech Hockey Games), Sweden officially clinched their seventh Euro Hockey Tour title, and third straight, by moving seven points ahead of Finland and Czechia in the tournament table with just one game to go tomorrow.

Tre Kronor has had a solid outing on this year’s tour, winning two of three at both the Karjala Tournament and Beijer Hockey Games, losing only to Czechia and Finland, respectively, while sweeping the Swiss Ice Hockey Games in December. A regulation win against Finland to cap off the Betano Hockey Games will give Sweden ten out of a possible twelve wins, all without needing overtime, the most dominant of any of their previous Tour victories.

This marks Sweden’s seventh Tour championship, with Tre Kronor looking to finish with a perfect record in Brno, and then will look to carry that momentum, along with a cadre of incoming NHL stars (including Victor Hedman, Rasmus Dahlin and Lucas Raymond), to the 2024 World Championships, staying in Czechia to open their tournament in Ostrava on 10 May against the United States.
