Hayley Wickenheiser of Shaunavon, Sask., had a goal and an assist, and Colleen Sostorics of Kennedy, Sask., also scored for the Canadians, who take on Finland on Wednesday and the U.S. on Friday.

Kim St. Pierre of Chateauguay, Que., needed only 12 saves for the shutout, while Canada pelted Swedish counterpart Sara Grahn with 42 shots.

The U.S. blanked Finland 4-0 in Mikkeli. The top two teams after the preliminary round will play for gold Saturday in Vierumäki.
