After a new format for the Euro Hockey Tour was unveiled last season, eliminating the Oddset and Czech Hockey Games and replacing the second half of the tournament with a round-robin format between Sweden, Finland, Russia and Czechia, the tournament details have been confirmed to follow the same format for 2015-16.

As in previous years, the Tour begins in Finland with the Karjala Tournament in early November 2015, followed by the Channel One Cup in Russia in mid-December. Then, in a three-weekend series of round robins in February and April (which will have games double as part of the Euro Hockey Challenge), each team will face each other once to crown a winner of the Tour. The tournament not only helps for continental bragging rights and international conditioning, but especially in the later part of the season acts as a great tune-up for the World Championships.

While all teams will surely put forth a great effort to win the Tour, watch out in particular for Sweden, who will be looking to retain its title clinched last year, and the Russians, looking to take a tournament victory into the World Championships being hosted in Moscow and Saint Petersburg following the Tour.
