The U.S. Women’s National Team captured the Gold medal with a 4-3 win over Canada at the 2008 International Ice Hockey Federation World Women’s Championship here tonight at the Baqu Arena. Team USA finished with the tournament with a 4-0-1-0 record and ended with back-to-back victories over top-seeded Canada for its second Gold medal in the last three World Championships.

IIHF Congress Approves Women’s World Championships In Olympic Years

After over twenty years of not holding the IIHF Women’s World Championship in years when the Olympics are taking place, today the IIHF Congress voted to allow for both tournaments to be held the same calendar year every four years, with the tournament moving from April to August in Olympic years, starting in 2022.

🇺🇸 Set Of Six U.S. Women’s Players Join Triple Gold Club

By virtue of the United States’ first Olympic Gold medal in 20 years, six new skaters from Team USA have joined the women’s version of the Triple Gold Club, all adding Olympic Gold to their World Championship Gold and Clarkson Cup titles.

Using a trio of power-play tallies, the U.S. Women’s National Team posted a 4-2 victory over Canada to advance to the Gold medal game of the 2008 International Ice Hockey Federation World Women’s Championship here today at the Baqu Arena. The United States and Canada will rematch for the championship on Saturday 12 April.
