With a hard-working 4-0 semi-final win over Finland, Canada secured its berth in the Gold medal game on Thursday, 05 January. Kris Russell, Blake Comeau, Kris Letang, and Andrew Cogliano scored for Canada, while Justin Pogge made 19 saves for the shutout in his fifth straight start.

Dustin Boyd led the way with two goals as Canada defeated Finland 5-1 in the Boxing Day tournament opener in front of 16,083 fans at Vancouver’s Pacific Coliseum, many sporting red-and-white jerseys.
