The U.S. Women’s National Team defeated Finland, 7-0, here today and will play Canada in tomorrow’s first-place game at the 2015 Four Nations Cup.

Kelli Stack and Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson had three points (2-1) each and Brianne McLaughlin-Bittle stopped all 12 shots she faced. The U.S. is now undefeated in three games and has outscored its opponents 16-2.

“We played well right from the start and were really on top of our game,” said Ken Klee, head coach of the 2015 U.S. Women’s National Team. “We moved the puck extremely well, created a lot of offensive chances and converted. We’re excited to advance and face Canada tomorrow.”

The U.S. opened the scoring on the power play at 4:31 of the first period and tallied three goals in a 1:46 span to go up 3-0 and force Finland to switch goaltenders. Kendall Coyne notched the first one on a goal mouth scramble, followed quickly by Lamoureux-Davidson who fired a shot over the goaltender’s glove hand. Allie Thunstrom would pick up the rebound of a Stack shot and put it past a scrambling goaltender.

Stack added two more goals for the U.S. in the opening frame, including one on the power play, to go into the intermission with a 5-0 lead.

After a scoreless second period, the U.S would extend the lead in the third period with goals by Monique Lamoureux at 5:37 on the power play and Lamoureux-Davidson’s second of the game at 14:04.
