The IIHF has released the full schedule for the 2017 World Championship in Paris, France and Cologne, Germany, with defending champions Canada opening the tournament against Czechia, while hosts Germany open the tournament against the United States on opening day, and France hosts Norway on day two.
Unlike last year, where Canada’s 2015 Worlds victory carried over with no interruption to 2016, this year’s World Cup Of Hockey opens a number of possible avenues for the IHLC to go after the tournament, including the Deutschland Cup or Euro Hockey Tour, making the guesswork on the incumbent heading into 2017 all the more difficult.
