What few today remember is that after the game (Game 8 of the Summit Series) the Canadians had to fly to Prague, Czechoslovakia, to play an all-star team in what was an historic return home for Stan Mikita, who had moved to Canada as a young boy in 1948 and made a name for himself as one of the NHLโ€™s great stars. Now, nearly a quarter of a century later, he was coming home.

The team gained the lead and held on for the win, scoring three times in 83 seconds in the second period and then checking the Soviets into the ice in the final, scoreless period for a 3-2 win.
