After nearly two year of Olympic qualifiers that began in Luxembourg and China in November 2019, four rounds of play, 36 teams competing and a global pandemic in between, came to a conclusion today for the final three spots in Beijing, with the spots being clinched locked up by Slovakia, Latvia and Denmark for the 2022 Winter Olympics.

After Slovenia edged out Austria 2-1 and Italy defeated an upstart Korean squad by the same score on the last day of competition, the qualifiers for the 2017 World Championships in Cologne and Paris became more clear, although Slovenia is the only one with a guarantee of playing for now.

For the fourth straight World Championship in which they are participating, Austria and Slovenia have been relegated back to Division IA for 2016, failing to clinch spots at next year’s World Championship in Russia.
