Both relegation games at the 2019 World Championship came down to thrilling and surprising finishes, with Great Britain and Italy, both promoted from Division IA in 2018, upsetting France and Austria respectively to send them down to Division IA in 2020, while each punching their ticket back to the Top Division in Switzerland.

🇨🇿 Florida Panthers Confirm Radim Vrbata’s Retirement


The Florida Panthers confirmed that Czech forward Radim Vrbata would sit out the Panthers’ season finale in Boston, putting his 17 season career to an end, with stops in Colorado, Carolina, Chicago, Phoenix, Tampa Bay, Vancouver and Florida, along with stints with Liberec and Mladá Boleslav of his native Czech league.

As first announced in March, and with his Chicago Blackhawks ending their season with a Stanley Cup victory, Finnish defenceman Kimmo Timonen has retired from his professional career after sixteen NHL seasons with Nashville, Philadelphia and Chicago, and eight Liiga seasons with KalPa, TPS and HIFK, in addition to 20+ years representing the Leijonat internationally.
