The IIHF has announced the Hall Of Fame Class of 2019, to be inducted at May’s World Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia, with two native Slovaks and the top women’s player in history highlighting the class, as the IIHF will induct Miroslav Šatan, Žigmund Pálffy, Hayley Wickenheiser, Jörgen Jönsson and Mike Modano to the Hall. 🇨🇳 China Granted Automatic Berths At 2022 Beijing Olympics


In a similar vein to the IIHF’s decision four years ago to allow Korea automatic berths to the 2018 Olympics in PyeongChang, the IIHF today confirmed at their Annual Congress that the next Winter Olympic hosts, China, will gain automatic berths for the men’s and women’s tournaments in Beijing for the 2022 Games.

After the IOC’s landmark decision to ban Russia outright from the 2018 Olympics, but still allow individual athletes to compete under the Olympic flag if they pass IOC drug tests, the IOC today announced that members of Russia’s women’s team at the 2014 Sochi Games failed their tests, and are thus banned for life from the Olympics.

The final score of 11-0 was suitable representation of what transpired tonight. Kendall Coyne had two goals and an assist for the U.S., while four teammates had a goal and two assists and Brianna Decker and Amanda Kessel each had three assists.
